General questions

  1. What is 60Frames?

60Frames Entertainment is a new company dedicated to financing and syndication of professionally produced online content. The company provides professional content creators access to financing, an artist-friendly development environment, speed to market, participation in all revenue streams including advertising, and greater ownership over their intellectual property. In addition, 60Frames will collaborate with advertisers to deliver immersive experiences to connect their brands with relevant online audiences. 60Frames distributes its programming through the top video portals, social networking and peer-to-peer video sites, and we will be adding additional syndication partners in the weeks and months to come.

  1. How did 60Frames come to be?

60Frames was incubated by leading Hollywood talent and literary agency United Talent Agency (UTA) and innovative Internet-based advertising agency Spot Runner. The company was formed in response to the creative and advertising communities' need to optimize the financial and creative potential of digital content distributed through the Internet. It is backed by prominent institutional and individual investors, including Tudor Investment Corporation and the Pilot Group co-founded by Robert Pittman.

  1. What does 60Frames mean?

The name “60Frames” originates from the different frame rates used in digital video and represents the company’s commitment to deliver high-quality, short-form content to consumers through digital platforms.

  1. Why type of content do you create?

60Frames works with professional artists to support their respective visions for original online programming. Beyond that mandate, there are few parameters.  Today, our programming is mostly short-form, and our launch shows are mostly comedic.  However, the Company is currently in active production and development on a number of additional comedy, drama, thriller and non-scripted series, many of which seek to expand the notion of what – in terms of genre and format – works online.

  1. Why do I need to register for an account?

It’s completely up to you if you would like to register for an account. Registering allows you to subscribe to series, receive email notifications when there’s a new episode and save your favorite videos and artists.

  1. Will you sell my email address or spam me?

Of course not. We will send your our newsletter periodically (usually 2-4 times/month at the most, although more frequently when we first launch our site), and when you subscribe to a series or mark a video or artist as a favorite, we will let you know when there is new relevant material via email. You can unsubscribe at any time from the bottom of our emails.

  1. How do I search for videos?

All of our video series can be accessed by rolling your mouse over the orange “Videos” tab at the top of every page. Scroll down to click on the video series you wish to see. The most recent video will start playing automatically.

  1. How do I search for artists?

We’ll be adding more search functionality in the next few months that will allow you to search for a specific artist.

  1. I don’t have Flash, and I like to keep javascript turned off; can I still use your site?

Sorry, but no. To watch videos on our site (and most any other website for that matter), you’ll need to turn javascript on and install Flash 8. It’s not a big deal though; you can download the latest Flash plug-in from Adobe. 98% of people already have Flash installed.

  1. Do you have any other system requirements?

Yes, our site is best experienced if you have a recent Web browser like Firefox, Safari, or Microsoft Internet Explorer 6 (or use IE7 if you are on Windows Vista). Windows XP and Mac OS 10.3 or better will work best.

  1. Why is your website so green?

Green is good, right? We just like the color green, so we thought we’d just embrace it entirely. You should see our office…..

  1. What does it mean to subscribe to a video series?

When you subscribe to a video series, we’ll send you an email when there’s a new episode or a new season to watch online. You’ll need to register to subscribe, but registering is simple – all we need is your email address, a password, and your date of birth. You can unsubscribe at any time by clicking the “unsubcribe” button on the video series page on the site or at the bottom of our emails.

  1. What’s the difference between subscribing and RSS?

Subscribing adds you to the email list for a video series. RSS lets you add the same type of subscription notification to whatever RSS reader you use. Some people prefer RSS over email, so we have both kinds.

  1. Can I share, post, save or podcast videos?

Yes! On the video pages on our site, you’ll see little icons  to click that allow you to share, post, save, or podcast videos if that option is available for that video series.

  1. How will I know when there are new videos to watch?

If you subscribe to a video or series or you enable an RSS feed for a video, you’ll receive a notification when there is a new video in a series to watch. We’ll also let you know about new series in our periodic newsletter. We’ll be releasing several new series each month, so check back often.
